One of our school psychologists is going on parental leave, so you now have the chance to become one of us at the central child and student health service in Kungälv.

As a school psychologist in Kungälv, you have the opportunity to influence the school and future of children and young people. Your work is varied, developing, and independent, where you always have close access to other professionals and good colleagues.

The Support Unit (Kungälv's central child and student health service) works on behalf of the municipality's preschools, pedagogical care, and primary schools. The unit consists of two unit managers, school psychologists, counselors, school nurses, speech therapists, special educators with municipal-wide assignments, and the municipality's attendance team. At the Support Unit, we have a broad competence and value interdisciplinary collaboration. With us, you will work with engaged and experienced colleagues and contribute to developing student health work in schools and at the Support Unit.

Responsibilities

As a school psychologist, you work on behalf of the principal and together with others in the school's student health team. The work should primarily be preventive and health-promoting but may also involve remedial work and should be conducted at the individual, group, and organizational levels. The goal is to create a good environment for students' health, learning, and development. You are responsible for the psychological perspective in student health. This may involve investigations and questions regarding adapted primary school, assessments of complex learning situations, health-promoting and preventive work, consultation/supervision for school staff, providing support and advice to students and parents, and various forms of collaboration, etc.

Qualifications

• Psychology degree with a psychologist license or a psychology degree before PTP.
• Experience working in schools is an advantage.
• Experience in psychological assessments of children and adolescents is an advantage.
• High level of proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.
• Driver's license and own car required.

You should have good collaboration skills, the ability to build relationships, and be able to see the whole picture regarding the individual and the situation. The work requires good independence, structure, and flexibility.
